Vehicle Standards Policy
Effective Date: April, 2026
1. Purpose
This policy establishes the minimum standards for all vehicles listed on the Navo platform. All Hosts are required to comply with these standards at the time of listing and throughout each rental period.
2. Eligibility Standards
2.1 Age and Mileage
- Vehicles must be model year 2010 or newer.
- Vehicles must have fewer than 200,000 miles on the odometer.
- Exceptions may be made at Navo's discretion for classic or specialty vehicles.
2.2 Title and Registration
- Vehicle must have a clean title (no salvage, rebuilt, junk, or branded titles without written Navo approval).
- Vehicle must be currently registered in the state of operation.
- No outstanding registration holds that would prevent legal operation.
2.3 Safety Requirements
- All factory-installed safety equipment must be functional (seatbelts, airbags, lights, horn, wipers, brakes).
- Tires must meet minimum tread depth requirements (2/32" minimum; 4/32" recommended).
- No cracked or significantly obstructed windshield.
- All recall repairs must be completed before listing; Hosts must monitor the NHTSA recall database.
- Vehicle must pass a basic roadworthiness check as required by Navo.
3. Cleanliness and Condition
Vehicles must be delivered to Renters:
- Clean on the exterior (no excessive dirt, mud, or bird droppings).
- Clean on the interior (vacuumed, no strong odors, no pet hair unless disclosed).
- Free of personal belongings that would interfere with the Renter's use of the vehicle.
- With a minimum of a half tank of fuel (or 50% battery charge for EVs).
4. Vehicle Photos
Listing photos must:
- Be taken within the last 90 days.
- Accurately represent the current condition of the vehicle.
- Include at least one photo of all four exterior sides.
- Not use filters or alterations that obscure vehicle condition.
- Be taken in clear lighting.
5. Prohibited Vehicles
The following vehicles may not be listed on Navo:
- Vehicles subject to active safety recalls that have not been remediated.
- Vehicles used for commercial livery or licensed transportation services.
- Vehicles with structural or frame damage.
- Vehicles without functioning catalytic converters.
- Vehicles with odometer tampering or rollback.
- Vehicles not legally registered for road use.
- Motorcycles, mopeds, ATVs (unless a separate program is available).
6. Electric Vehicle (EV) Requirements
Hosts listing EVs must:
- Accurately disclose the vehicle's current battery range.
- Provide or disclose charging instructions.
- Ensure the charging port is functional and all charging cables are included.
- Disclose any range limitations, known battery degradation, or software limitations.
7. Enforcement
Navo reserves the right to inspect any vehicle at any time, remove listings that do not meet standards, or suspend Hosts who repeatedly list vehicles below standards. Renters may report vehicles that do not match their listing description through the app.
