How renting works
Navo connects you with local car owners. Here’s the journey from browsing to handing the keys back—straightforward, with verification and trip protection built in.

Search and choose a car
Browse vehicles near you in Chicago. Use filters for dates, price, and features. Each listing shows photos, rules, and what’s included.

Book your trip
Select your dates and complete checkout. Some cars book instantly; others may need a quick host confirmation. You’ll always see the full price before you pay.

Verify your identity
Upload your driver’s license and complete our ID check. Hosts can see that you’re verified—it keeps the community safe for everyone.

Add rental cover
Trips on Navo use rental cover through our partner Bonzah Insurance. You’ll purchase coverage as part of getting trip-ready so you and the host are protected.

Pick up and drive
Follow the host’s pickup instructions (in person or contactless). Document the car’s condition with pickup photos so your trip starts on a clear note.

Return and wrap up
Bring the car back on time, refuel to the agreed level, and upload return photos. After the host confirms, your trip is complete.
Before you book
- You must be at least 21 with a valid driver’s license.
- Have a payment method ready for the trip and any required deposit.
- Read each listing’s rules (mileage, pets, smoking, etc.).
